Avolent is the leading provider of standards-based software solutions for Electronic Bill presentment and Payment (EBPP), Electronic Invoice Presentment and Qayment (EIPP) and Interactive Customer Care (ICC). Avolent’s BizCast™ software provides benefits to all parts of the business-to-business delivery chain — including billers, payers, service providers, exchanges and financial institutions. Through a unique, data-centric approach, BizCast automates the entire “invoice to pay” process by helping businesses present, route, reconcile, dispute, analyze and pay invoices online. The company’s modular BillCast™ software suite enables relationship-centric billers to deploy secure, scalable solutions for personalized billing, statement presentment, payment and service delivery that increase the value of each customer interaction.
Founded in 1995 and headquartered in San Francisco, Avolent helped pioneer the Open Financial Exchange (OFX) standard for online bill presentment and the thin consolidator model, and continues to champion open standards.
In January 2001, Avolent finalized its acquisition of Solant, a pioneer in the integration of advanced business-to-business and business-to-consumer EBPP and ICC applications. Avolent’s customers are some of the largest billing organizations and service providers in the industry, including AT&T, CyberBills, DotsConnect, Intuit, MasterCard, Metavante, Nuvox Communications, Spectrum, Wells Fargo and YourAccounts.Com. For more information, please visit www.avolent.com or call (415) 553-6400.
OFX SOLUTIONS
Avolent provides a complementary suite of products for distribution and aggregation of bill data, meeting the needs of Billers/BSPs and CSPs. The Avolent Distribute product is a fully functional and proven OFX server for use by Billers and BSPs. Distribute implements a full set of OFX-PRES and OFX-PAY message transactions. The Avolent Aggregate product is the complementary OFX client product for use by any CSP that wishes to connect to a biller, BSP or Switch-Network to send requests and aggregate responses.
Both the Distribute product and the Aggregate product are capable of handling OFX, and capable of handling communications with multiple end-points within a single application instance. This allows service-providers to separate their technology buying decisions (product) from their business decisions (whom to partner with for bill presentment and payment).
These stand-alone products run seamlessly when implemented directly with the Avolent BillCast and BizCast product suites, or when integrated with an existing EBPP or CSP solution. Security is a key issue in this arena, so 128-bit SSL encryption and secure digital certificates are utilized to ensure the integrity of your data, as well as the integrity of the source and destination of your data.
100% standards-compliancy means added assurance that both Distribute and Aggregate will be entirely interoperable with other standards-compliant systems. In the event that one of your partners is not fully compliant, you also have the ability to modify or add transactions to your transaction set. This means that you will always be able to maintain interoperability with your business partners.
The Distribute and Aggregate products facilitate the implementation of the Thin Consolidator model through the use of the Open Financial Exchange (OFX) standard. The Thin Consolidator approach allows billers to ensure customer privacy and retain control of the customer's interaction with bill detail, while enabling consumers to receive bills through their choice of consolidators. Bill summaries can be aggregated at any CSP, such as home banking Web sites, portals, and personal financial managers as well as through the biller’s own web site.

COMPANY DESCRIPTION
Marketware International develops software solutions for the financial community. Providing state-of-the-art on-line transaction processing systems and client/server financial applications, Marketware International supports a financial firm’s ability to more efficiently extend the reach of market information to its professionals and customers. Several large brokerage and banking institutions in the U.S. and Canada are already benefiting from the broad family of products offered by Marketware International.
OFX SOLUTIONS
Marketware International was one of the original vendors to offer an OFX server since 1999. Personal Financial Management applications currently supported include Intuit’s Quicken, Microsoft’s Money and Yahoo. A complete set of OFX investment transactions is supported and includes:
EASE OF INTEGRATION AND SEAMLESS INFORMATION
Installation of the OFX Server provides a three-tiered architecture for the management and control of transactions. First, business rules and processes can be specified to administer and control access (a browser base application that permits client administrators to manage the OFX users, user’s account linkage, entitlements etc.) Second, Marketware International’s Transaction Services Platform (TSP) supports access to as many information sources as necessary to provide the unformatted data required. Third, integration and formatting of the data by the OFX Server establishes the information required.
The OFX Server platform has been designed to support a 24 hour-per-day, 7 day-per-week processing environment. In addition, the platform is scaleable and provides for load balancing as the number of users and their activity increases. The OFX Server also provides a secured environment using SSL and encryption technology.
The OFX Server provides for the seamless flow of information from source to requestor. Information required by the Personal Financial Management application may require retrieval from multiple diverse repositories including those from legacy systems.
Because of the architecture and design methodology (e.g., shared, centralized code) new interfaces can be developed quickly. Links to back office providers (e.g., Automatic Data Processing or ADP) can also be made available. The OFX Server from Marketware International provides a stable and responsive platform without the need for lengthy internal development or ongoing maintenance and enhancement.
